About Sunny Side Up

Hi all!

My name is Bonnie and I am an educator who has worked over 10 years in both the primary and secondary school settings. I have taught both as a general education teacher and as a special education teacher and hold both bachelors and masters degrees in curriculum and instruction.

Currently, I'm working as the Director of Exceptional Learners and Inclusion at Global Prep Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This is me :)

I am passionate about creating teaching materials and lessons that allow creativity and imagination. I place a major focus on differentiation and meeting the needs of all learners.

On my blog, you will find that I will focus on both teaching as a "teacher" and both as a "parent" as my husband and I have four children at home.

These are my own four at home :)

I chose the name "Sunny Side Up" due to our recent addition of chickens at our home. My kids and I are currently learning how to be urban chicken farmers. When I'm not chasing kids and chickens, I spend my time working out throughout the week, either with crossfit or yoga. From time to time I may share a story about the top things that I love: my kids, adoption, crossfit, and chickens as well as teaching tips. Embrace the random. :)

Mostly, I hope you will find many tips and tricks about teaching that I can share with you to apply to your own classrooms. My philosophy is that when you teach what you love, you love what you teach.

Thanks for stopping by!
Bonnie
